Benefits of consistent Floating

Your body remembers to let go and truly rest.

As you begin to Float regularly, your bod|mind become aclimated to the experience of slowing down and tuning in.

 Less Reactivity

No human is perfect, but we feel like one of the most noticable effects of Floating is that we are less likely to be easily reactive in stressful situations. It's a consistent effort and energy but with floating you are able to soften so many layers of the self

Physical Pain Management

Thanks the magnesium in 1000lbs of epsom salt and your body having the time/space to truly recover helps to reduce physical pain and with consistent floating you are able to notice these effects in the body regularly!

Float Therapy Tips

1. Drop all Expectations
First time floaters have all sorts of expectations which can lead to disappointment in themselves or the experience surrounding the First Float. We highly recommend that you go into your Float without expectations, allow yourself to be open to all experiences.

Taking the time in space to be present with yourself ; Body | Mind | Soul.

Why can this help?  Meditating or the idea of personal stillness can be downright challenging for some of us, and placing the expectation that you'll have no thoughts or that you'll be able to quiet that busy mind of yours for 90 minutes straight on the first try is not important to your experience in a Float pod. Float Therapy is a practice just like anything else you implement into your routine/lifestyle - the more you allow yourself to do it the easier and more routine it becomes for you.

[Every Float creates a different space for awareness and perception]

2.  R E L A X
Yes it sounds funny to say it out loud, but mentally preparing yourself to relax helps create a more intentional float experience!

Try taking a few minutes before your float to transition - honor the space you are presently and focus on what you hope to feel or perceive afterwards.  Create a small ritual of picking an Art of Attention card from our lobby, close your eyes and do some deep breathing, or simply repeat a mantra to yourself while you're showering off before your float.

"I am safe and content, creating this time for me to just be " is one simple idea you could roll with or simply focus on 1 word that keeps you inspired/connected!

June Rejuvenation

Living in Florida we are lucky to enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather 2/7! However there is something so rejuvenating to us about syncing into the rhythm of Summertime in the South.

As we take the steps to adjust to a summer pace we want to share a few of our favorite tips!

Stay Hydrated
Summer’s intense heat saps moisture from plants, the earth, and our bodies. That’s why it’s okay to add an extra pinch of salt in your food in the summer to compensate for sweating and to prevent fatigue. Also, drink at least 16-24 ounces of water per day

Eat Cooling Foods
Some of the best foods are leafy greens, coconut, cucumber, cantaloupe, and watermelon. Garnish salads and other dishes with cooling cilantro, parsley, and alfalfa sprouts, and avoid hot drinks, spicy food, alcohol, caffeine, and chilies.

Moisturize Daily
After showering, mix one teaspoon each of organic, unrefined coconut oil and castor oil in a glass bottle with a cap. Place the bottle in hot water until the oil is lukewarm (not hot!). Apply to your whole body to keep your skin supple, soft, and cool. You can also use this treatment before you swim to protect your skin from salt water or chlorine!

Mindful May

As we spring into May we hope to encourage simple practices to utilize in your daily life that encourage a state of Mindfulness. Mindfulness is the act of being consistently aware of what you're sensing and feeling at every moment — without interpretation or judgment.

Many clients who float with us report finding a sense of mindful awareness/meditation state while floating. We feel as though it provided the ultimate Environment for self connection/study.  We also have found that Float 90's - or 90 Minutes of Floating is our preferred method of relaxation.

Here are a few simple, accessible tips we love to share for cultivating a state of Mindfulness inside the pod + throughout your daily existence!

  • Awaken your senses - Sight - Sound -Touch - Smell : Mindfulness doesn't require complete stillness and silence. It simply requires energy and effort of attention.
  • Focus on your breathing - Sit in a quiet place with your back straight, but relaxed. Feel your breath move in and out of your body. Let your awareness of everything else fall away. Pay attention to your nostrils as air passes in and out. Notice the way your abdomen expands and collapses with each breath. Take the time to be present with how you are able to self soothe by simply breathing.
  • Make the familiar new again - Take the time to truly perceive. As you become more aware of your world, you might become fonder of the things around you - interactions - connections
  • Pay attention - As you hold conversations, move and go about your day, check in with the ability to notice a few things that you might not regularly. Become observant of all senses that keep you in the present moment.
  • Rest - Take the time even if for 15 minutes out of your day to rest yourself amidst the busy-ness of your daily life. Take the time to listen to what your body needs presently + take the steps necessary to provide yourself this space in time to simply witness.
